The following is an account of the Insolvents within this county allowed by the court of said county for the year 1786, and likewise an account of the property they gave in for said year:

State of North Carolina - Craven County, 1810

Know all men by these presents, that we John H. Potts & Charles Roach are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency David Stone Esquire, Governor, Captain-General and Commander in Chief, in and over the State, in the sum of five hundred pounds current money to be paid to the said Governor, his successors or assigns. To the which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 30th day of July A.D. 1810.

The Condition of the above Obligation is such, that whereas the above bounden John H. Potts hath made application for a License for a Marriage, intended to be had and solemnized between him and Hannah Hubbard of the County aforesaid. Now is case it shall not appear at any time hereafter, that there is any Lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
