Newman & Mary Potts his wife of the 1st part to Mary Jones, Wm Potts, Susan Jones, Newman Potts, Hannah Stafford, Lucius Potts, Urban Potts & Minnie Lewis of the 2nd part for and in consideration of five dollars, a certain lot of land in Brogden township adjoining the land of said Newman Potts and J. [Joel] S. Fields, beginning at the southwest corner of the Potts grave yard and runs thence northward 150 feet to a stake in J. S. Fields line; thence with his line passing his corner and continuing same course to a stake in a north eastern direction; thence eastward to the road, or avenue; thence with said road or avenue southward 210 feet to a stake; thence westward to the beginning containing about 2 acres.

The purpose of this deed is to create a permanent grave yard or burying ground for the children and descendants and family of Newman Potts, deceased.

[Newman died August 26, same year, age 64]
