Emanuel County: Know all men by these presents that I, Urban Potts, of the county and state aforesaid have made, nominated and appointed and by these presents do make, nominate and appoint Newman Potts of the county of Wayne and State of North Carolina my true and lawful agent and attorney in fact for me and in my name and for my use and benefit to ask, demand, sue for, recover and receive of and from any and all whatever persons indebted to me in any matter or whatever all such sum or sums of money or specific articles as are now in any wise due or may hereafter become due on any contract or agreement heretofore by me made - and to have, use and take all lawful ways and measures in my name or otherwise for the recovery thereof either by suing out or by court prosecuting any and all manner of legal process or by compounding and arbitrating according to his best discretion; and all proper and necessary acquittances and other sufficient release and discharge for me and in my name to make, sell and deliver and to do all lawful acts and things whatever concerning the premises as fully and effectually in every respect and myself might or could do were I personally present. In testimony whereof I the said Urban Potts do hereto set my hand and seal this Feb 21, 1894.
