These estate papers show John Winsett had two wives, names unknown. The children by the first wife were Jarman, Mary, Susannah and Frances. Sarah was born to the second wife.

The Jones County, NC 1815 will of Rachael Jarman mentions her daughter Mary Winsett deceased and also mentions her grandson Jarman Winsett. Mary was very likely John's first wife. Rachael's Will

May 1790 - Division of Estate - Pages 1 and 2 show the division of the slaves among the children except Sarah. "Sarah drew her proportion of the amount except as to negroes and negro hire. The reason why Sarah's part is not as much as the rest is the negroes belonged to the mother of the first fam children and to the heirs of her body. Sarah is by another mother".

December 2, 1792 survey shows the division of John's 213 acres with 71 acres being the "Widows Survey". Property descriptions include mouth of Island Branch and south side of Tuckahoe Creek.
